Queensland talk station 4BC will launch a new show following the end of the NRL and 4BC’s coverage of the 2014 season.
The show will be hosted by Mark Braybrook. 4BC general manager Anthony Frangi said: “We’re very excited to launch Mark’s new lifestyle weekends show, as this is the first time we’ve gone local on weekends for a few years. Our new show adds strength to our commitment to local programming.”
“With the NRL season now finished for the year, Mark’s show will cover everything local and give listeners the chance to enjoy and engage with topics from cooking to music to sport and current affairs and everything in between. There’ll also be plenty of time for talkback.”
The weather will also be a focus of the new show, as Queensland’s summer storm season rolls in.
Braybrook said: “Brisbane is a 24/7 city and stories don’t stop because it’s the weekend. I’m looking forward to keeping our listeners entertained and informed across the summer and during our cricket coverage.
“I’ll be connecting with Brisbane and having some fun over the summer. My wife is also pleased that I’ll be occupied now that the football season is over.”
4BC’s summer programming will also include the entire cricket season, broadcasting from November 5, 2014 with the first T20 match between Australia vs South Africa.
4BC’s comprehensive coverage of the NRL season will return in 2015.
