Cannes Lions 2015 is upon us as the industry once again acknowledges the great creativity from the last year. The team at Born Licensing have created a list of clever campaigns that leverage characters from movies and television in their advertising work.

In previous years we’ve seen some of these campaigns given a lot of attention. Here are 10 examples of Lion winners that featured TV or movie characters:

David Born is Director of Born Licensing, a brand licensing agency solely focused on licensing for the purpose of advertising and marketing. Born Licensing has been appointed licensing agent for entertainment powerhouse 20th Century Fox, Nickelodeon, Sony Pictures, Fremantle Media, Hasbro, Cartoon Network and BBC Worldwide. David started his licensing career as FMCG & Promotions assistant at a leading Australian brand licensing agent Haven Licensing. During that time he worked with major licensors such as Marvel, Twentieth Century Fox, Sesame Workshop, Sanrio, Lucas Film and Nickelodeon. He worked with a strong portfolio of clients such as Parmalat, Boost Juice, Colgate, Johnson & Johnson and National Foods. David spent the following 4 years at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, starting as Licensing Associate and progressing to Manager of FMCG & Promotions. He drove revenue for the category with key FMCG & Promotional clients such as McDonalds, Hungry Jacks, and Parmalat. Additionally, David developed a strong understanding of clip licensing, working with clients including Bulla, ANZ and Westpac NZ along with their creative agencies. After moving to London, David had the opportunity to expand his knowledge and experience within the category further as Head of Category for FMCG & Promotions at Turner Broadcasting. He managed the food, beverage, health & beauty, promotions and clip licensing business across EMEA (UK, Europe, Middle East & Africa). Some of the exciting brands within the Turner portfolio include Ben 10, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and LazyTown.
