My Kitchen Rules served up a strong Monday night audience as South Australian “classy bogans” Alisha and Deanne brought smoke alarms and collapsing desserts to the dinner table.
The pair’s chaotic Instant Restaurant ‘Hot Mess’ helped My Kitchen Rules pull a total TV national reach of 1.685 million on Seven, with an average audience of 981,000 and a further 206,000 watching via BVOD.
The episode, which aired at 7:30pm, saw the self-described classy bogans battle a smoke alarm, a sticky date pudding that ended up on the floor and food stylist Jane’s growing horror at their novelty plates.
Despite the kitchen chaos, the pair managed to scrape together 68 points, finishing behind Angus and Simon on 70 and Krysten and Lucy on 72.
But it was Nine’s The Block that took the biggest overall Monday audience, reaching 2.241 million Australians and averaging 1.237 million viewers on total TV, with another 294,000 tuning in via BVOD.
A Current Affair also pulled a 1.655 million total TV reach, while Tipping Point Australia reached 1.488 million.
Over on 10, Have You Been Paying Attention? continued to attract viewers, reaching 1.057 million and averaging 691,000, while Shaun Micallef’s Parents’ Evening reached 999,000.

The weekend itself belonged to rugby league, with Sunday’s NRL Grand Final dominating the television landscape.
The Grand Final match reached a whopping 6.053 million Australians and averaged 4.286 million viewers, with another 1.447 million watching via BVOD. The post-match coverage reached 4.975 million, while the entertainment surrounding the Grand Final reached another 4.445 million.
Away from the footy, Seven’s The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo was Sunday’s biggest non-NRL offering, reaching 1.697 million and averaging 522,000 viewers.
The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend A Broken Heart also performed strongly for Seven, reaching 1.040 million.

Saturday was a quieter night for the networks, with Beyond Paradise proving the strongest entertainment performer outside of the news and current affairs programs.
Seven’s repeat of Pitch Perfect reached 1.102 million and averaged 300,000. While Nine’s Getaway also pulled 966,000 in total TV reach, averaging 503,000 viewers.

And on Friday, Better Homes And Gardens was the biggest non-news performer among the key 25-54 audience, reaching 401,000 and averaging 152,000 viewers.
Chateau DIY Australia followed for Nine with a 301,000 reach and 102,000 average audience, while Tipping Point Australia reached 288,000 and averaged 142,000.
