Last night, The Golden Bachelor scored high for Nine, as Aussies watched in shock when Terri rejected Barry ‘Bear’ Myrden’s rose.
The move came as a surprise to the other women vying for Bear’s heart, and saw Nine win a Total TV National Reach of 1,715,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 725,000.
Terri shared that “he’s certainly my type of guy, but each week standing there waiting to see if you’re chosen just didn’t sit right with me”.
The Victoria-based property investor added that the hope of being “picked by a man” didn’t sit with her core beliefs, adding that she “needed to choose myself”.
At the fifth rose ceremony, Bear called Terri’s name, only for her to say, “I’m not going to accept your rose”.
Bear had to continue the rose ceremony, until Bianca, Elizete, Pip and Shamse were sent home.
The next morning, the mood in the mansion was low. Bear was feeling the rough day or rejection, so he organised a pamper day of relaxation and skin care that saw the other contestants wax his legs.
Seemingly unbeknownst to the women vying for his heart, rumours have been swirling that Bear’s claim he has been single for 14 years following his wife Audrey’s death is not entirely accurate.
The Golden Bachelor was engaged to a woman and dated another woman following the death of his wife, Audrey, despite claims he remained single, reports online have claimed.
At least one of these relationships is said to have ended on bad terms, resulting in the woman posting Bear’s photo onto the ‘Sis, Is This Your Man?’ Facebook group, in which users warn each other about men with dating ‘red flags’.
My Kitchen Rules (MKR) won the Ratings for Seven with a Total TV National Reach of 1,718,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,043,000 for Seven.
