The Voice blind auditions continued on Seven overnight, with the broadcast grabbing a total TV national reach of 1.67 million and a total TV national average audience of one million. The viewers were treated to what coach Ronan Keating called one of the best auditions he had seen on The Voice and even went as far to say Edde Masson could win the whole competition.
Masson who resides on the Sunshine Coast, secured a perfect the four-chair turn singing coach Melanie C’s 2000 hit I Turn To You a very different sound.
For Masson, the audition was the first time she had stepped onto a stage since she became a mother and experiencing hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy. This affected her voice and left her unable to sing for an extended period.
Keating wasn’t the only judge to praise the performance with Kate Miller-Heidke labelling it “the antithesis of karaoke”.
Despite all the judges turning and putting on their best sales pitch to get the highly sort after singer to their respective teams, Masson picked Melanie C’s team. Hardly a shock considering she sang her song.
Nine’s TV ratings juggernaut took home the most watched entertainment program of the night. Monday’s episode pulled in a reach of 1.99 million people and an average audience of 1.1 million.
Over on 10, Have You Been Paying Attention? came in 11th on OzTam’s TV Ratings.
