All eyes were on Australia’s best hope, Alex de Minaur as his Australian Open campaign begun. Almost 2.5 million Aussies tuned in to watch “The Demon” take on American Mackenzie McDonald.

True to his nickname, de Minaur slaughtered McDonald in his straight sets in a match that didn’t even last two hours. A Total TV national average audience of 899,000 tuned in to watch the world number six go about his business on Rod Laver Arena.

Seven’s most popular entertainment program of the evening was Home and Away pulling in a total TV national reach of 1,513,000 and an average audience of 963,000. The 2026 season opener featured a rescue operation by David, and Tane and Levi risked their lives for love.

Over on 10, season 12’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continued to pull in the numbers. The second episode managed a reach of 1.5 million and an average of 830,000.

The little celebrity family is settling into their new home in the South African jungle, adjusting to their bunks, the elements, the creepy crawlies and, of course, the long drop. But things could be worse… they could be living in our Elephant Graveyard!

Unfortunately, that’s exactly the case for the two newest celebrities: Matt Zukowski and Cyrell Paule.

One of Aussie reality TV’s biggest personalities, “Cyclone” Cyrell has touched down in the jungle. First appearing on Married at First Sight, Paule became a household name and fan favourite with her passionate and unwavering spirit. Also… the wine-throwing.

Since her time on MAFS, Paule has competed on The Challenge Australia and appeared on The Amazing Race Australia: Celebrity Edition with her partner Eden. Cyrell’s chosen charity is Dolly’s Dream, which provides support, resources and education for young people and their families to help prevent or deal with bullying.

Joining Cyrell is Matt Zukowski, a content creator, model and host of the podcast Where’s Your Head At? with his co-host Anna McEvoy.

No stranger to the spotlight, Matt appeared on Season 2 of Love Island Australia, but will he fall in love with his new jungle home?
