The SportsGrad podcast, iTunes Australia’s ‘#1 Careers podcast1’, has announced that Deakin University, one of the world’s top ten universities for sport-related subjects, has become its social education partner.
This partnership will see the two organisations work together to help ambitious graduates accelerate their careers by sharing the real-world experiences of sport industry experts who are excelling in their roles around the globe.
“It’s a thrill for The SportsGrad Podcast to be recognised by my alma mater as a leading source of information and inspiration to students looking to find their way into the sport industry,” said Reuben Williams, SportsGrad Founder & Co-Host of The SportsGrad Podcast.
“My experience of studying sport at Deakin was exceptional, and the team there shares my passion for helping students to realise their dreams of working in sport. Importantly though, they also share my optimism and excitement about the sport industry, which is emerging from the pandemic with more resilience and dynamism than ever.”
Professor David Shilbury, Director of the Deakin Sport Network and Chair of Sport Management at Deakin, concurred.
“Having guided our students and supported our alumni through decades of change in the sport industry, we are bullish about the future for sport, and this partnership reflects that,” said Professor Shilbury.
“2020 showed us just how important sport is to health and wellbeing, lives and communities, whilst accelerating aspects of the sport industry that will create the jobs of the future.”
“We’re looking forward to working with Reuben, whose passion, professionalism and proactive approach is showing why Deakin is internationally renowned as a leader in sports education.”
