You may have noticed there’s a handful of few new awards up for grabs at B&T’s 2027 Women Leading Tech Awards, presented by Atlassian, spanning education, health, HR and recruitment, and property and construction.
The idea is to give women driving change in these corners of the tech industry the recognition they deserve, celebrating the work they’re doing and the impact they’re having on their sectors.
The four new Industry Awards are EdTech, HealthTech, HR & Recruitment Tech, and PropTech & Construction Tech. Here’s what each one is looking for.

The EdTech Award recognises women making waves across the education technology sector, whether they work for an EdTech company or are educators using technology to create change.
Entrants will need to show how they’ve advanced education technology during the eligibility period, through product development, new applications of technology to improve learning or administrative outcomes, or industry leadership. Judges will be looking for tangible results, including improved learning outcomes, engagement, adoption or efficiency gains that wouldn’t have happened without the nominee’s efforts.
The HealthTech Award is open to women working across digital health platforms, medical devices, health data and analytics, telehealth and wellness technology. It also covers FemTech businesses tackling women’s health needs, from reproductive and maternal health to menopause and beyond.
To make their case, entrants must explain how they’ve advanced health technology through product development, clinical or research contributions, or industry leadership. Evidence could include patient or user outcomes, clinical validation, adoption or commercial success.
The HR & Recruitment Tech Award is for women building, leading or implementing the technology powering talent acquisition, workforce management, people analytics and employee experience.
And while the existing People & Culture Award recognises women working in in-house HR, People & Culture and recruitment functions, this new award is about those advancing HR and recruitment technology as an industry.
Entrants must demonstrate how they’ve moved the sector forward through product development, new applications of technology to talent and workforce challenges, or industry leadership. Judges will look for measurable results, such as adoption, efficiency gains, bias reduction or improvements to candidate and employee experience.

And finally, the PropTech & Construction Tech Award recognises women using technology to tackle challenges across property and construction. That could mean developing platforms for property management, real estate transactions or building design, or applying technology to improve construction project delivery.
Entries should detail how nominees have advanced these sectors through product development, process innovation, research or advocacy. Judges will be looking for results such as efficiency gains, cost or time savings, safety improvements and adoption metrics, with evidence of the impact their work has made.
