The General Sir John Monash Foundation today announced it has partnered with Sydney-based media agency, Mojo Media, to launch its first podcast series, The Scholars.

The series features exclusive interviews with John Monash Scholars across all fields of academia, business, science, humanities, and the arts.

Hosted by the CEO of Mojo Media, Justin Kelly, the first season of The Scholars delivers thought-provoking conversations with the brightest, boldest, and bravest minds in Australia. Listeners get access to stories never shared before from doctors on the front line of COVID-19 to marine biologists investigating invasive species in Antarctica.

Annemarie Rolls, CEO of the General Sir John Monash Foundation says the Foundation was thrilled to announce the launch of the new podcast series which highlighted the excellent achievements of the Foundation’s Scholars.

“Our Scholars are doing amazing things every day that most people never hear about. The Scholars podcast is a platform for us to share these stories and provide insights behind the scenes of what goes into the studies and projects of Australia’s brightest academics,” said Ms Rolls.

“With our Scholar community being such a diverse group of extraordinary people, no episode will be the same and there will be unique insights to take away each time. We’re looking forward to showcasing Scholars from all backgrounds so we can explore a variety of topic themes,” she added.

The John Monash Scholarships are among the most important postgraduate scholarships currently available in Australia and are awarded each year to 15-20 outstanding Australians who demonstrate remarkable qualities of leadership. Since 2003, the Foundation has awarded over 202 scholarships to Australian graduates, who have gone on to complete postgraduate study at the best universities all over the world.

The first five episodes of The Scholars explores the education journeys of five John Monash scholars in locations from New York to regional NSW, with backgrounds in music composing, economics, marine biology, clinical paediatrics, and civil engineering.

The Scholars host, Justin Kelly, brings his 20+ years experience in media to the program to get the best and most interesting insights from each scholar as they discuss their childhoods, education backgrounds, application experience for the scholarship, postgraduate studies and following successes.
