Former Lyre’s Spirit Co. CMO Kristy Bloomfield has been appointed as the first CMO of premium Australian exclusive whiskey distillery, Sullivans Cove.
Bloomfield’s appointment sets out to drive the brand positioning and strategy of the premium brand that she called “proudly one of the most prestigious portfolios for the category, both domestically and internationally”.
The distiller has made waves in the alcohol world of late, winning a slew of awards and cementing its premium status. A 700ml bottles of the brand’s single malt drop can go for as much as $1,250. In 2014, its French Oak Single Cask was awarded World’s Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards, marking the first and only time an Australian whisky has received the honour.
Bloomfield is no stranger to the alcohol category. Prior to joining Sullivans Cove, Bloomfield was the CMO at Lyre’s Spirit Co. for 15 months and before that spent four years as a brand marketer for Lion, the parent company of Tooheys and XXXX, to name a few.
Speaking to Mi3, Bloomfield said: “The brand has been recognised for the highest industry awards from 2014 to today, so to have the opportunity to join such an incredible business, brand, and to work with Andy and the team was truly a privilege”.
“I have been appointed Chief Marketing Officer to drive the marketing agenda and revenue ambitions for the business across B2C and B2B. Reporting to Andy Guant, who joined 4 months ago as Chief Executive Officer. Andy’s vision for the Sullivans Cove business is truly energising, and I am excited by what we can achieve together, with such an outstanding portfolio.”
