Reports are flooding the Internet long-time brand ambassador for Subway, Jared Fogle, has had his home raided in the US.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Fogle’s home was raided on Tuesday morning (US time) by Federal agents, the reason as yet to be confirmed.
From its Twitter feed and an official statement, Subway has confirmed it will suspend its relationship with Fogle.
“Subway and Jared Fogle have mutually agreed to suspend their relationship due to the current investigation,” a Subway spokesman said in the statement. “Jared continues to cooperate with authorities and he expects no actions to be forthcoming. Both Jared and Subway agree that this was the appropriate step to take.”

The raid comes two months after the executive director of the Jared Foundation – a foundation that aims to eliminate childhood obesity – was allegedly arrested for child pornography. It is unclear yet if the two are related. A few hours ago before the announcement of its relationship suspension, Subway tweeted it was shocked at the news.
We are shocked about the news & believe it is related to a former Jared Foundation employee. We are monitoring the situation closely.

Fogle has been the face of Subway for upwards of 10 years, appearing in multiple ads and campaigns documenting his weight-loss.
A spokesperson for Subway Australia told B&T this morning the company here does not have a relationship with Fogle currently, and had not used him in campaigns for the past few years.
