With the second game of the 2015 State of Origin being played tonight in Melbourne, media channels and politicians on both sides have really started to pull some punches.

Cheeky billboards
Billboards promoting how amazing NSW is have been banned from Melbourne and Brisbane airports. The billboards, proposed by Premier Mike Baird, featured the slogan “NSW, We actually build infrastructure, Come and invest where things get done.”
According to a News Corp publication, a Brisbane Airport spokesperson said: “The ad implies infrastructure isn’t being built in Queensland. As a company that’s investing $1.3 billion in major new infrastructure [including] a new runway just a stone’s throw from where the ad was to be placed on the very same site, we reserved the right to reject it.”
A Melbourne Airport spokesperson said: “The billboard was declined as Melbourne Airport is proudly Victoria’s gateway and is also one the state’s largest private investors providing hundreds of jobs. We are proud and passionate supporters of our great state of Victoria.”
