Social media and online community management company Quiip has celebrated its five-year anniversary with a host of new business wins including entities from the consumer, utilities, government, financial services and health sectors.
Joining Quiip’s growing client portfolio are Sydney Writer’s Festival, NSW Health STI Programs Unit, VicHealth and BCNA (Breast Cancer Network Australia).
Quiip’s growth reflects the maturing of the industry and recognition by organisations that communities are the future of business, according to CEO, Alison Michalk (pictured above), who established Quiip after identifying the need for expert management of the risks, challenges and opportunities presented by a then-emergent online community building, management and moderation industry.

Over Quiip’s five years we’ve seen organisations move from social media being a nice to have to a necessity, to the expansion of social media operations across nights and weekends – 24/7,” said Michalk.
“In the last year in particular, we’ve seen an increase in brands considering proprietary communities as their long-term strategy. This trend is clearly reflected in the volume of telcos and financial service businesses investing heavily in their customer communities.”
