It’s one thing to have your paper beaten by scissors, or your scissors beaten by a rock; but what if you threw a lizard and a Spock in the mix as well?
Inspired by The Big Bang Theory, one of the most popular TV series in history, Presto is to hold the very FIRST ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock’ tournament in Sydney and Melbourne in December 2015.
The tournament coincides with news that the first seven full seasons of The Big Bang Theory, the hilarious and award winning US comedy that mixes high IQs with low social skills, which is now available to stream exclusively for Presto TV and Presto Entertainment subscribers.
The Big Bang Theory introduces Presto viewers to lovable physicist roommates Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons), whose predictable and introverted lives are thrown into chaos Penny (Kaley Cuoco), an attractive waitress and aspiring actress, moves in across the hall. Penny quickly becomes an integral part of Sheldon and Leonard’s circle of friends, which includes engineer and onetime astronaut Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg), astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar) and, eventually, Sheldon’s female companion Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik) and Howard’s adorable microbiologist wife, Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).
‘Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock’ was created by internet pioneer and blogger, Sam Kass and made famous when Sheldon introduced viewers to the unique twist on the game in “The Lizard-Spock Expansion” (S02E08) episode of The Big Bang Theory. The game was designed to create more winning variables than the traditional ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’, allowing players who know each other well to avoid landing on the same choices.
Presto is now giving fans of The Big Bang Theory the first opportunity to play ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock’ for real in the Southern Hemisphere. In keeping with one of the favourite haunts of the show’s characters, Presto will be hosting the tournaments at Kings Comics in Sydney on Saturday, December 12 and All Star Comics in Melbourne onSunday, December 13.
