Prepare Yourselves Australia! Reality TV SVOD Hayu Announces Launch Date!

For all those reality TV fans out there, get your red pens out and circle March 22 in your diary.

That’s the official Aussie launch date for the new reality TV SVOD service, Hayu.

The service, which was unveiled to media types a few weeks ago, is the brainchild of US studio NBC Universal. The content will feature the likes of Keeping up with the Kardashians, the Real Housewives franchise and a multitude of others.

“We’re excited to be unveiling March 22 as the launch date for hayu in Australia,” said NBC Universal’s Jay McNamara, executive vice president of strategy development and analysis.

“With over 3,000 episodes of the top reality TV shows – including Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Real Housewives and Top Chef franchises and Made in Chelsea – this SVOD service is the first of its kind. Curated by reality experts for reality fans, hayu is fully integrated with news feeds and social media and, uniquely, its next-generation functionality will enable Australian fans to share some of the content they love.”

The service is aimed at women and includes an inbuilt social media feed with emoticon ratings.
