The National Basketball Association (NBA) and e-commerce sports merchandise specialist Fanatics have announced a partnership to launch official online NBA stores across the Asia Pacific.

This partnership expands on the NBA’s existing relationship with Fanatics, which currently operates the flagship NBA Store in New York City, NBAStore.com and NBAStore.eu.

With this partnership, official online NBA stores are now available in the following countries in the Asia-Pacific region:

  • Australia (NBAStore.com.au)
  • Cambodia (NBAStore.com.kh)
  • Japan (NBAStore.jp)
  • Laos (NBAStore.la)
  • Malaysia (NBAStore.com.my)
  • Mongolia (NBAStore.mn)
  • New Zealand (NBAStore.co.nz)
  • Singapore (NBAStore.com.sg)
  • Thailand (NBAStore.co.th)
  • Vietnam (NBAStore.com.vn)

The collection of online NBA stores will offer a wide assortment of men’s, women’s and youth products from all 30 teams, including on-court apparel from official outfitter Nike and products from a range of NBA merchandise partners, including New Era and Mitchell & Ness.

The online stores will also provide fans exclusive products, including personalised team jerseys.

Visitors will be able to browse the stores in local currencies and benefit from shortened delivery times and reduced shipping costs as a result of Fanatics’ centralised distribution point in Asia.

Steve Davis, president of Fanatics International, said: “The NBA is becoming an increasingly global league, and we’ve seen a significant uptick in fandom across several regions throughout Asia.

“This level of growth is very exciting, and Fanatics is committed to providing a best-in-class online shopping experience to provide these passionate fans with easy access to the largest assortment of officially licensed NBA merchandise available for all 30 teams.”

Lesley Rulloda, associate vice president of global merchandising for NBA Asia, said: “We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Fanatics to provide NBA fans across Asia Pacific with greater access to authentic NBA merchandise.

“Basketball’s popularity in Asia Pacific continues to grow, and our new online NBA Stores with Fanatics will allow us to reach and engage with our expanding fanbase throughout the region.”

With the launch of the new online NBA stores, the league now has 20 international e-commerce sites.
