Nature Invests In New Team Members And Innovation

Strategic insights consultancy Nature today announced it has hired several key new team members and restructured senior roles to increase its focus on innovation, including new technology and data sources.

The changes follow a series of new business wins and the retention of several key existing clients by Nature over the past six months.

Ryan Stephens was appointed Senior Consultant at Nature earlier this month. He most recently worked in the insights team at McDonald’s UK and, before that, at System1 (formerly BrainJuicer) and Metrix Consulting. Stephens brings proven expertise in strategy development and brand and communications testing to the Nature team.

Matthew Hutton joined Nature in September as Consultant from Kantar Colmar Brunton, adding experience in government and not-for-profit sectors, including a focus on transport, sustainability, education and mental health.

Tom Antonie joined Nature earlier this month as Consultant after three years at Forethought, adding experience across health insurance, pharmaceuticals, financial services, FMCG and retail.

Jackie Erny will join Nature in November as Consultant from Kantar Colmar Brunton. With more than five years’ experience, Erny started her career in insights at BrandHook as an AMSRS graduate.

As Nature focuses on bringing emerging technology and sources of data to its clients, long-term Nature team member Joel Vermaas has been promoted to the role of Senior Associate Director and Innovation Leader.

Working closely with Nature’s Senior Partner Peter Stuchbery, Vermaas will drive methodological innovation in areas such as the leveraging and fusing of multiple data sources including passive data; identifying and commercialising emerging technologies such as VR; and building advanced text analytic capabilities.

Stuchbery’s marketing and data science team has also been expanded, with the appointment of Scott Watson as Associate Director of Marketing Science. Watson joined in March from Hall & Partners The Modellers in the UK, where he was Group Director of Marketing Sciences.

Nature Managing Partner, Chris Crook (main photo), said: “Despite COVID and an extremely difficult business environment, our business has performed strongly over the past six months, retaining key existing clients and adding new ones.

“The addition of so many talented new team members reflects that growth and our relentless investment in creating a great team that combines human skills, technology and multiple data sources to deliver great insights and results for our clients.”

Nature will announce more new team appointments for its Melbourne and Sydney offices in the coming months.
