Specialist social video content marketing agency, Emotive is proud to announce that award winning creative director Mark Harris, will take on the role of ECD, commencing later this month.

Harris’s appointment is the latest in the evolution of Emotive as it looks to bolster its world-class creative output and strategic offering.

With more than 20 years’ experience in the advertising industry, Mark’s background spans every corner, from storyboard artist to director, cameraman to innovative digital creative, writer to client. Working around the world for brands such as Adidas, Apple, PlayStation, Sky, Optus, Carlsberg, Microsoft, Fox Sports, Ch4 and Samsung, Mark will bring a wealth of experience and creative insight to Emotive’s already impressive offering.

His appointment as Emotive ECD follows a year long partnership of creative collaboration. The new role will see Mark lead the agency’s creative output in Sydney working closely with Creative Director Andrew Cameron, while overseeing the growth and development of creative opportunities globally in London.

Simon Joyce, founder and CEO of Emotive commented: “Mark is a world class creative, and has been at the forefront of the evolving world of content marketing. His multi skilled background and knowledge will bring a new level of thinking to our data led social video content offering. The opportunity to have Mark work between London and Sydney is so advantageous for the business.

“It keeps us close to international talent and insights, whilst allowing our Australian operation to effectively be ‘always on’, a necessary approach for brands to move at the fast pace of entertainment culture today. Emotive has grown enormously since launching 18 months ago, and Mark’s appointment will significantly add to this momentum.”

Harris added: “When Simon approached me about the role, it was like being asked to go on a date with Natalie Portman, I couldn’t say no. The agency’s track record of fearless creativity speaks for itself and the opportunity to grow the business as a true global entertainment publisher through powerful emotional content is incredibly exciting.”

Emotive have created and amplified social video campaigns for some of the country’s biggest brands, including Optus, Xero, Four Seasons Condoms, Virgin Mobile, Student Flights and Subway.

I am currently the Marketing & Activations Director for Emotive. Working in media for the past 12 years, my career commenced in sales at Fairfax Media working on Good Weekend Magazine, and later working across both Sydney and Melbourne Magazines. London called, where I gained invaluable international experience managing key accounts for The Sunday Times Travel Magazine. Upon returning to Australia, I joined MCM Media where I later became responsible for managing trade and consumer marketing across all brands and platforms in my role as Marketing Executive. My biggest achievement at MCM Media was the successful company rebrand from MCM Media to Authentic Entertainment in June 2014. Prior to joining Emotive, I developed and implemented a strategic Trade Marketing Plan for Brand New Media. I hold an undergraduate degree in Marketing from the University of Newcastle and a postgraduate in Media from the University of NSW. I am passionate about all things content marketing, audience, social media, brands, advertising, trade & consumer marketing, music, events and bringing brands and consumers closer together.
