The world’s most angry/funny curmudgeon Larry David has arguably taken this year’s crown for the funniest Super Bowl ad for 2022 in a glorious spot for arguably a not overly funny brand, crypto exchange FTX.

The spot sees the 74-year-old comic legend goes back in time to pooh-pooh some of humankind’s greatest-ever inventions.

It all starts in Mesopotamia in 3000 BC with the invention of the wheel getting roasted. The advent of the toilet he declares, “We’re not animals! We go outside, like humans!” And the moon landings he says, “Nobody’s going to the moon – ever! It’s faaar! It’s too faaaar! It’s faaaaar!”

Called “Don’t miss out”, the cheeky spot’s the work of creative agency DentsuMB and was directed by Jeff Schaffer who worked with David on both Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm among other things.

Check out the hilarity below, although it arguably doesn’t make the confusing world of crypto any less confusing. There’s even an extended director’s cut version which you can watch HERE.
