Guinea Pig Causes Chaos In New One NZ Spot Via FCB Aoteaora

One NZ has released a major new campaign with a twist, that launches today via FCB Aoteaora.

In a bold, first-of-its-kind move, One New Zealand will make millions of Phone Dollars available to New Zealanders from today through the One Wallet digital wallet, accessible to Kiwis regardless of which network they are on.

FCB Aotearoa has created a multi-channel creative campaign to bring One Wallet to New Zealanders, introducing some charming new characters into the One NZ story.

Reggie – a One Wallet developer and his pet guinea pig Simon, will join Pepper (who viewers will recognise from the Finding Jade tale) in a story that explains exactly how so many millions of Phone Dollars are being given away.

While Reggie is preparing to deliver Phone Dollars to One NZ customers, his furry accomplice Simon has other plans, and with a few swipes of his paws, delivers millions and millions of Phone Dollars to people on any New Zealand network. And now loose in the One NZ headquarters, there will certainly be more to come from Simon.

One NZ’s GM of membership and experience, Kayne Munro said, “Our brand purpose is to enable a better connected Aotearoa, so it made sense to extend the benefits and great deals of One Wallet and include the whole country, regardless of what network someone is on. This builds on our recent extension of the One NZ SatelliteTrial access to all mobile customers in Aotearoa. And yes, we are indeed giving away millions and millions of Phone Dollars and we encourage everyone to get involved and check what’s in their One Wallet today.”

FCB creative directors Alan Jones and Angelo An added, “Hidden behind this furry little package is a big, smart, cheeky, creative commerce idea. Millions and millions of Phone Dollars up for grabs, for people on any network. Thanks to Simon and our less-furry friends at One NZ, it was a fun one.”

The campaign will run across TV, OOH, online, social, radio partnerships from today. Phone Dollars are a digital currency that can be used when you join One NZ to purchase a new mobile phone ($199+) on a 24 or 36 month interest-free term, with an eligible Pay Monthly plan and a minimum $99 deposit.
