FreeviewPlus Shortlisted For Videonet Connected TV Awards

TV body Freeview has been shortlisted for an award at the globally recognised Videonet Connected TV Awards 2015 for its subscription TV offering, FreeviewPlus.

The shortlist, announced June 3, has seen Freeview’s hybrid TV platform FreeviewPlus achieve accolades in the ‘Best TV/Video Service update or launch’ category for its green button HbbTV service which includes broadband delivered catch-up.

The nomination follows Freeview being the first Australian entrant to win the Best Enhanced TV Service award category at the prestigious International Interactive TV Awards in March.

Chief executive officer Liz Ross said Freeview was very pleased to have been shortlisted by the panel.

“It’s exciting for the Freeview team and technology partner Massive Interactive to be again rewarded with this recognition for their work and commitment to bring the best interactive TV experience to Australians,” Ross said.

“The shortlist is further acknowledgment of FreeviewPlus’ leadership in hybrid television technology and services, working to continually improve and grow our product to offer the very best to our Australian customers.”

Launched in September 2014, FreeviewPlus is a world-first TV service, incorporating the most advanced, user-friendly free-to-air TV guide yet seen and providing access to more content and services than ever before.
