The Feds Relaunch To Make Way For The Future Of Production

Responding to the future benchmark of production, The Feds has relaunched its commercials division to provide service to local freelance directors and agencies.

The Feds’ new production offering is now based on working in collaboration with a roster of non-exclusive directors to produce the very best work at the best price.

The company will provide a supportive environment for freelance directors with executive producers who have years of experience running jobs, who understand the nature of the changing business model, and who maintain trusted agency relationships.

“We have made changes to the way we work at The Feds in response to how we see the market changing and the need for a company like ours to be nimble and agile in providing solutions to agencies and clients,” The Feds owner and executive producer Michael Cook said.

Having created a more flexible company model last year, adapting to the current climate of clients requesting content and advertising at more competitive prices, The Feds has already produced a slate of new productions with a diverse list of clients including Hahn, Yaffa Publishing, Westfield and Google.

The production outfit partnered on a new breed of branded content, most recently turning a house into a garden for Stoneleigh’s ‘Keyhole’ project via social media agency SOCiETY. The Feds also teamed up with writer/director Kacie Anning to produce a web series for popular Sydney event Festival of Dangerous Ideas, held at the Opera House.

“Our aim is to work in close collaboration with directors, agencies and clients to ensure we work with the most talented technicians available and make sure that production values are maintained,” said Cook.

“We feel we can offer something unique to directors, whilst also offering agencies the stability of a known entity.”

“We run on low overheads, with no top heavy management or representation structure and both the owners of the business are involved in helping make projects happen. Committed to delivering on solutions to meet the needs of the evolving advertising and media space, we look forward to adding to our available roster of talented directors.”

Starting the year off with a bang, The Feds is currently in production across a number of broadcast content projects, an eight-part factual series for National Geographic Channels International and a two-part factual series, ‘Becoming Superhuman’ for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). The Feds EP Julia Peters has also won the ABC inaugural format pitching competition at the Australian International Documentary Conference with an original format, ‘The Detention Centre’ which is now in development.
