Dentsu Queensland has announced it has been successful in its tender for the Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ) media account, as the Brisbane-based business continues to go from strength to strength.

GroupM’s EssenceMediacom previously held the account.

The win followed a competitive pitch process and comes as denstu Queensland continues to grow into a dominant force in the Sunshine State which is a testament to the agency group’s dedication to creating deep strategic partnerships with clients and partners in a time when integration and true partnership has never been so valuable.

TEQ group executive varketing, Michael Branagh said: “We undertook an extensive process and we’re incredibly excited to work with dentsu Queensland, who have shown a strong understanding of Brand Queensland and our ambition for it.

“They are committed to growing Queensland’s visitor economy and showed real innovation in meeting our strategic goals for the brand, and also for our state’s wider tourism and events industry.

Chris Ernst, managing director of dentsu Queensland, commented: “The opportunity to partner with Tourism and Events Queensland in what is an incredibly exciting decade for Queenslanders, is career defining. We are a proud Queensland business committed to doing work that is good for people, good for business and good for society. Partnering with TEQ to drive prosperity for Queensland businesses across the wider state is something that every person in our organisation is absolutely thrilled to be a part of.”

The partnership will see dentsu Queensland manage the media strategy and planning for the TEQ Brand and key projects, as well as powering TEQ’s innovative offering, IMATE, the organisation’s Industry Media Agency which supports tourism and event businesses across the state.

The success caps off a hugely successful year for dentsu Queensland. The agency secured partnerships with Amazonia and The Brisbane heat, and retained and extended partnerships with the

Foundation Education Group, contributing to double digit growth for the Queensland business, in revenue, employee engagement, and market NPS.

dentsu Queensland was also a finalist in the B&T Awards State Agency of the Year Award (QLD/other states/territories/NZ agency), with the agency also playing a role in Great Southern Bank’s Bronze Effie Award in the Challenger Brand category.

“It’s been a big year for dentsu Queensland and every person in our agency has played a part. We can’t wait to see what we can achieve in 2023 with our uncompromising passion to drive growth for our partners, our people and society as a whole through meaningful and effective work,” said Ernst.
