Jessie Oldfield and Adam Murfet from film production company CKOL have taken out the Best Direction in a TV commercial category at the 2015 Australian Directors Guild Awards.
The duo were awarded at the ADG Awards ceremony on Friday evening for ‘Life Through Wool’, a branded content piece they created and directed for Country Road and The Woolmark Company. The short film stars Australian actress Isabel Lucas and celebrates the beauty of wool.
Oldfield and Murfet co-founded production studio Certain Kind of Light (CKOL) in 2012 and have been working with Country Road on an ongoing basis since 2013. The pair have a strong aesthetic for fashion, beauty and lifestyle imagery and are also known for their cinematic sensibilities. CKOL has also produced recent spots for L’Oréal and Bonds.
Other contenders in the ADG Awards category included Bruce Hunt for ‘The Westpac Bicentennial Foundation: Fred’s Drive’, Tim Bullock for ‘Driver’s Test’ and Ray Lawrence for ‘NSW Teachers Federation: Graduation.’ The TVC category also includes online content.
