Cairns Crocodiles, presented by Pinterest, is thrilled to welcome News Australia back as a Platinum Partner for 2026.
The partnership sees the media powerhouse once again supporting the Cairns Masterclass track, as well as the Hemingway’s Brewery content track, bringing its signature energy and expertise to the festival.
“Cairns Crocodile is where News Australia shows up for the industry, in person, with energy, ideas and intent,” Lou Barrett, managing director of client partnerships at News Australia, said.
“It’s about connecting with our clients, listening deeply, and building partnerships that move the market forward. We’re proud to return as Platinum partner and keep creating spaces where relationships thrive and real outcomes are born.”

As part of the collaboration, News Australia will take over the aesthetics of the popular brewery-based content track at the iconic heritage-listed wharf, creating an immersive and visually striking environment for attendees.
‘Hemingway’s, Powered by News Australia’ runs each afternoon from Tuesday to Thursday. Between around 1:30pm and 4:30pm, a series of on-stage sessions unfold, followed by Happy Hour, making it the perfect opportunity for networking and connection.
News Australia will also host a not-to-be-missed News Australia Pub Trivia on Wednesday night (13 May) at Hemingway’s, adding a playful twist to the festival.
“This return partnership underscores News Australia’s commitment to supporting creativity, industry conversation and unforgettable festival experiences at Cairns Crocodiles,” Rosie Oakshott, managing director, B&T and Cairns Crocodiles said.
The 2026 event takes place from Tuesday 12 to Thursday 14 May at the Cairns Convention Centre and promises three days of world-class keynotes, panels, masterclasses and immersive experiences. Get tickets HERE.
Returning for the second year, Masterclasses Presented by News Australia will take place on day three of the landmark event, Thursday 14 May, and includes three bespoke masterclasses sessions, followed by a speed mentoring session.

In 2025 the trio of leaders giving masterclasses included Sherilyn Shackell, founder and global CEO of The Marketing Academy, Adam Ferrier, co-founder of Thinkerbell and Irene Joshy, head of creative and insights Kantar Asia & Australia.
In addition to the masterclasses and Hemingway’s takeover, a ‘Backstage Access Presented by News’ video series will offer behind-the-scenes interviews with top keynote speakers. Rolling out across social media, the real-time sizzles aim to give audiences an exclusive look at the ideas, insights and personalities shaping the festival.
News Australia returning to support the homegrown event follows hot on the heels of Pinterest revealing it once again will be returning as the event’s headline presenting partner. The partnership, secured for the next three years, underscores Pinterest’s ongoing commitment to supporting and championing creativity across the region.
