Birkenhead Point’s Big Day Off Campaign Does Christmas Differently

Birkenhead Point Outlet Centre is running a campaign in November to give customers a way out of the stressful Christmas shopping period and boost sales in the month before the busiest time of year.

Running on weekdays throughout November, Big Day Off encourages shoppers to take the day off work and avoid busy weekend crowds, offering incentives such as a complementary glass of bubbles, free gift-wrapping, all-day parking, sessions with a personal gift consultant/stylist and in-store promotions.

Marketing manager for Birkenhead Point, Natasha Storch, said the campaign benefited both retailers and customers: “Christmas is the biggest time of year for shopping centres but also the most frustrating time for shoppers, so we wanted to try and take the frustration out of it by making the whole experience more enjoyable.

“Last year’s Big Day Off campaign was a huge success: specialty store sales increased by 10.9 per cent, average Facebook engagement increased by 66 per cent and the Special Offers page on our website achieved an average of 935 unique page views per day.”

Beginning on Monday, 9 November, the Big Day Off will run every weekday until Friday, 27 November.
