Adobe has launched a new ChatGPT app that gives creatives access to more than 70 of its creative and productivity tools directly inside OpenAI’s chatbot.
The move means users can tap into Adobe’s suite of applications—including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, Express, Acrobat Pro and Firefly—without leaving ChatGPT, marking a significant step in bringing professional creative workflows into conversational AI.
The new Adobe app consolidates three ChatGPT integrations launched late last year for Photoshop, Express and Acrobat Pro, while expanding access to dozens more Adobe tools spanning image editing, video production, graphic design, PDFs and creative asset management.
“More people are brainstorming, researching and solving problems in AI chatbot platforms than ever before,” said Forest Key, vice president, Adobe Firefly & Agentic AI, Adobe.
“We want Adobe’s pro-grade tools for creativity and productivity to be available wherever people work. The Adobe plugin in ChatGPT is an important step in that strategy, meeting hundreds of millions of ChatGPT users where they already are and giving them a natural path to go further in our apps.”
Users can access the new capabilities by starting a new ChatGPT conversation, typing @Adobe and selecting the Adobe app. They can use the tools as a guest or unlock deeper functionality by signing into an Adobe account.
One of the biggest additions is direct access to Adobe Firefly, the company’s generative AI platform, which was trained on Adobe-owned and public domain content in an effort to provide commercially safe AI-generated assets.
The integration enables users to perform tasks such as batch-editing photos by describing the desired outcome in natural language, adjusting lighting and colour, adding or removing objects, and resizing or expanding images.
Video creators can also automatically reformat landscape footage into vertical versions optimised for platforms such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels—a workflow increasingly used by publishers and broadcasters producing social-first content.
The app also transforms ChatGPT into a search tool for Creative Cloud libraries, allowing users to find assets based on descriptive prompts such as style, theme or mood before opening them in Adobe applications for further editing.
The launch represents another major step in the race to embed professional creative software directly into AI assistants, reducing the need for users to switch between applications while completing design, marketing and content production tasks.
