72andSunny Sydney has appointed Jessica Thompson as creative director, bringing her back into a full-time agency role after around 18 months working freelance.
Throughout her career, Thompson has worked across tourism, entertainment, health, fitness and retail. Her clients include Air New Zealand, Virgin Active, Boody, Suncorp Bank and Binge.
She has spent the past several months working with 72andSunny on a freelance basis. Her previous roles include creative director at The Hallway, where she spent almost seven years. Joining the independent agency as a copywriter in 2017, she progressed to creative director in 2020, leading national campaigns for Google, Disney, Binge and Tourism Fiji and more.
Thompson later joined Eardrum as creative director before spending five years freelancing on the client side. During that period, she also pursued projects in art exhibitions, poetry and fashion design. Her freelance agency collaborations included GAME Creative, Montoya, Poem, It’s Friday, Cocogun, Fuller, Eardrum and The Hallway.
Thompson announced the move through a post on LinkedIn.
“Well, it happened. I’m off the market. 72andSunny put a ring on it. Here I am making myself very comfortable on their couch. The team is full of angels and over the last few months of freelancing with them, they’ve really made me feel so much a part of the team. It’s lovely to make it official.”
“If we’ve worked together over the last year and a half, if you’ve hired me, if we’ve been partnered, if you’ve put a good word in for me… thank you. I’ll get you back one day,” she said.
