Ruth Mathewson has carved a three-decade career in journalism and media communications since graduating with a BA in Journalism from the University of Southern Queensland in 1987. Since 2008 Ruth has focused on corporate communications and media consulting, including crisis communications and media strategy for clients including the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet, Ellume Pty Ltd, Rowland, Brisbane Marketing, BG Group, Ergon Energy and Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology. Ruth has written for Bauer Media, News Ltd, APN and international news organisations, including writing and running news desks at the South China Morning Post in Hong Kong. She is principal of Brisbane-based TLC Media and in 2016 helped launch Australian podcasting start-up Whooshkaa, where she is Media Manager.
