I'm a creative, highly motivated and results-driven communications professional whose experience spans the political, not for profit, retail and consulting environments. My career began in the Office of former Senator Natasha Stott Despoja, where I started off as a university work experience student and then Electorate Officer. Over a period of seven years, my role evolved to encompass analysing and amending legislation, speechwriting, policy advice, media strategy and media relations. This stimulating and demanding position honed my writing, research and stakeholder management skills, along with my ability to multitask! After Natasha left Parliament in June 2008 my passion for politics led me to the United States, where I volunteered on the Obama campaign as part of the Michigan press team. Since 2008, I have further developed my skills in areas such as public relations (including product launches and promotion), issues management, social media, event management, community engagement, marketing coordination and copywriting. Over this time, I gained invaluable experience in the not for profit sector, before briefly dabbling as a freelancer between overseas trips during 2013. My current role as an Account Manager with communikate et al allows me to combine my previous experience and my love of words, and work alongside a talented and inspiring team to meet the strategic objectives of a broad range of clients, from HASSELL to Wilderness School, Benson Radiology and Carers SA.
