World’s Top Luxury Magazine Launches First Australian Edition

The world’s most authoritative title in the luxury market, Robb Report will launch in Australia to coincide with its 40th anniversary.

Since its first US edition, Robb Report has celebrated the craftsmanship and the soul that distinguishes the luxury experience, providing discerning readers the world over the ultimate guide to the finest cars, yachts, wines, fashion, jewellery and dining. Following the US edition, Robb Report has expanded with a further 16 international editions, and a dedicated following in each market.

Robb Report Australia is the 17th regional edition, bringing the ‘best of the best’ from an Australian perspective.

Editor-in-Chief Michael Stahl has more than 30 years’ experience in journalism, specialising in automotive, design and lifestyle. A long-time motoring and features contributor to Wheels magazine, The Australian Financial Review and The Bulletin, Stahl was named Publishers Australia’s Journalist of the Year in 2011 and was more recently Features Editor of Qantas magazine.

“The timing could not be better for the launch of an Australasian Robb Report,” Stahl says. “Luxury goods retailing in Australia has grown by more than 11 per cent over the past five years. International brands have raced to take advantage of our strong economy and tourism appeal.

“No less importantly, Robb Report Australia provides the opportunity to showcase Australia’s talents in everything from wine-making to couture to advanced engineering. Robb Report Australia will help drive our market’s growing awareness that the true value of a product or service lies in one’s emotional engagement with its creation.”

Brett Anderson, Editor-in-Chief of the New York-based Robb Report group, says: “Since its first international editions appeared in 2004, Robb Report has rapidly evolved from the undisputed U.S.-based authority on connoisseurship and the life well lived, into a truly global brand that embraces the unique concepts of luxury reflected in different cultures the world over.

“We’re particularly excited about the forthcoming launch of Robb Report Australia, which introduces the brand to an extremely sophisticated audience, whose pursuit of beauty and quality created abroad is matched by a deep appreciation for the artistry, artisanship, ingenuity, and breathtaking destinations to be found on Australia’s own shores.

“The Australian partnership serves as a fitting tribute to the brand’s founding premise—that the ultimate luxury experience is a shared passion for greatness. This belief binds us to our colleagues in Sydney and elsewhere.”

Robb Report Australia will be officially launched at an invitation-only function at the acclaimed Pier One Sydney Harbour Hotel in July. The first issue will appear in October, and will include a retrospective of Robb Report’s 40 amazing and influential years.
