Pacific’s Women’s Health and Girlfriend have partnered with Sport NSW for a series of events designed to encourage high school girls to participate in sport and active recreation through a unique opportunity to engage with women achieving success in sport.

The Girls Get Active Days will run throughout the year with support from local councils. Attendees will hear from inspirational female athletes from a range of sports including gymnastics, netball, squash, judo, orienteering, croquet, surfing, canoeing, skateboarding, cricket, rugby league, golf, yoga and dragon boat racing. At each event, 100 to 200 girls will get to try new sports while making new friends and stepping outside of their comfort zone.

As the exclusive media partner for the initiative, Women’s Health and Girlfriend will promote the events through content across the brands’ digital channels as well as through print features and amplification on social, tapping into Women’s Health and Girlfriend’s respective total footprints of 1 million and 2.3 million.

The sponsorship also gives brands an opportunity to get involved in the campaign via on-site integration such as activations and product sampling or across Sport NSW and Pacific assets through bespoke native content pre- and post-event.

Pacific’s Head of Health Kathy Glavas said: “We’re thrilled to partner with Sport NSW and further extend our involvement with women’s sport at all levels. We’ve long owned the female sporting space through our Women’s Health Women in Sport Awards (WinS) and Girlfriend’s Girlfriend Movement inspiring the next generation of females to pursue an active lifestyle. This makes Girls Get Active a natural fit for us.”

Sport NSW CEO Darren Simpson said: “Girls Get Active events are designed to encourage high school girls to participate in sport and active recreation by providing a unique opportunity to engage with women achieving success in the sports industry. We couldn’t be happier to have Women’s Health and Girlfriend on board as our exclusive media partners. Together we are promoting pathways and positive messaging around the importance of being active and healthy lifestyles.”
