In the weeks following our esteemed Women in Media award ceremony, B&T is giving readers the chance to get to know the winners from the evening a little better, and today we introduce you to founder and managing director of The Remarkables Group, Lorraine Murphy.
Lorraine Murphy is a busy woman, as the last 12 months can attest. An avid reader of business books, she decided to share her own learning on entrepreneurship by writing Remarkability: Be So Good They Can’t Ignore You, which was published by Hachette Australia in June.
In her current role, Lorraine has run training sessions for brands and agencies across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, educating 200+ people, and in November led the team to deliver their first INGAGE event – an educational and networking evening for 60 junior to mid-level industry professionals, covering influencer marketing tips and career advice for up-and-comers.
Recently, Lorraine identified a gap for a new millennial offering and decided to test demand for it – while simultaneously building an audience – through a talent search concept – and secured Bonds, Priceline and Qantas as brand partners for this first-time venture.
The search was so successful she has now built the Rising Soci@l Star brand out to include a membership base, brand partnerships and a new two-day live event in September 2016.
She has also been a mentor in the SISTER2sister program since 2011, and after committing to increasing the number of mentees, enlisted four more talented entrepreneurs.
