Women (Literally) Take Up The Fight, As Pitch2Punch Calls Out For More Blokes!

Heard of a little something called girl power? Well when Pitch2Punch put the call out for 2019’s Industry champions, the ladies of the marketing, media and advertising industry came running!

With just a couple of places left to be a 2019 fighter, Pitch2Punch are seeking some more men from the industry to join their female colleagues and step out of the office and into the ring. Currently the lineup includes 10 ladies and seven gents.

Now in its 7th year, Pitch2Punch is a challenging 11-week program of boxing training ending in a three-round amateur boxing bout at a prestigious black-tie gala.

Pitch2Punch 2018’s Best Overall Fighter, Havas’ Fraser Johnston said: “Pitch2Punch was an incredible experience and like nothing I’d ever done before.

“I didn’t really know what to expect, you hear so many stories throughout the industry about what goes on but all still a big unknown.

“With plenty of late nights and early mornings, Pitch2Punch has plenty of ups and downs. ”

There were moments when I thought about throwing in the towel and then I was reminded that at the end of the day it is for a phenomenal cause, Batyr do great work with young people and caring for their mental health.”

Johnston added: “That coupled with the thought of stepping out in front of 700 people including your friends and colleagues and not being able to say you gave it your all was motivation enough.

“Seb and the coaching team at 8 Limbs were a huge motivational source too, constantly reminding us all what was at stake.”

“There are plenty of laughs along the way also, you end up spending a lot of time with the other 19 competitors and we had an incredible group.

“I highly recommend Pitch2Punch for anybody that wants to challenge themselves physically and mentally whilst supporting a cause that deserves as much support as possible.”
