Bauer Media’s Woman’s Day today celebrates seventy years of breaking the stories that define Australia’s popular culture.

Woman’s Day has been capturing iconic women and men from all walks of life since 1958.

The Queen of England, Elizabeth Taylor, Elle Macpherson, Cher and even The Beatles have all graced the cover of Woman’s Day over the past seventy years.

The iconic magazine is marking the milestone with a special collector’s edition and wrap, featuring some of the publication’s most noteworthy covers from the past seventy years.

Since its inception, Woman’s Day has highlighted the stories of everyday Australians – from tales of triumph to heartbreaking real-life accounts, Woman’s Day has been there throughout.

In the seventieth birthday issue, Woman’s Day takes a trip down memory lane, showcasing some of the most memorable covers and features from the 1950s to the modern day.

Included in the collector’s edition is the story of the inspirational Sophie Delezio, whose brave journey has been covered every step of the way.

In addition, the magazine features Queensland’s first mounted policewoman, Heather Crack, and the pioneering Dr Louise Holliday, who, in 1981, was the first woman to spend a winter in the Antarctic.

From the Royals to homegrown personalities and international superstars, Woman’s Day has been delivering the content Australian women love since 1958.

In addition to the best celebrity stories and royal baby watch, Woman’s Day provides practical advice on all areas of lifestyle; from recipes to fashion, health, beauty, homes and pets.

Woman’s Day Editor in Chief, Fiona Connolly, commented; “We are very excited to be celebrating our seventieth birthday this year and marking the milestone with a Collector’s Edition issue.

“Throughout the years we’ve had the chance to meet and interview some of the most empowering local and international women for our pages, and tell their inspiring stories to our readers.

“We are extremely proud of the achievement and will continue to provide a slice of Australian life to our readers for many years to come.”

To celebrate, Woman’s Day is giving readers the chance to win cash prizes from a total prize pool of $10,000 with each magazine purchase. Readers will also go into a draw to win a five-night stay at the Manuia Beach Resort, Rarotonga on the Cook Islands.

The seventieth birthday issue of Woman’s Day is on stands today.
