With the first working week of January over, it’s time to reflect on the past five days with the strangest ads floating around the internet- including a strange gift to buy a pregnant woman, talking cats and a fluro orange man.

Foetus speakers

Marketers looking to grab the next generation of shoppers should check out a new device (Babypod) which allows expectant mothers to play sounds directly into their wombs.

The Babypod speaker connects to women’s smartphones via a cord and is operated through an app. The internal speaker makes a “muffled” sound for the foetus and can play music up to 54 decibels; which is the same level of noise as a hushed conversation.

The insertable the “first concert for foetuses ever held in the world” performed by Eurovision singer Soraya Arnelas. Yep, that’s right 10 pregnant women and their unborn babies listened to a concert. What a time to be alive.

Orange man

Citrus Wallet has rolled out its first digital multimedia campaign with four films that support its latest brand campaign ‘The Citrus Cash Back Week’.  The ads feature an ‘orange man’ trying to get into the wallet of young online shoppers to give them their cash back.

Talking cats

Animal Humane Society, a private, non-profit organization in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, is promoting the adoption of cats with a commercial in which cats and kittens express their hopes and desires.
