Wednesday TV Wrap: Clangers Drag on Networks

Wednesday TV Wrap: Clangers Drag on Networks

It was a mixed bag for the networks last night, as some shows soared while others proved a headache for TV chiefs.

The standouts included Ten’s MasterChef (910,000), the ABC’s Gruen (731,000) and Seven’s 6pm news (1.02 million) – the most watched show of the evening.

Seven’s House Rules (624,000) is still underperforming, however, its numbers continue to go north not south.

Of the programs causing concern, Nine’s Britain’s Got Talent (499,000), Seven’s Modern Family (357,000), Seven’s Back With The Ex (a dismal 140,000), Ten’s Hughesy We Have A Problem (456,000) and Ten’s Roseanne (209,000) would be causing EPs grey hairs.

Seven won last night with 26.7 per cent audience share, followed by Nine with 25.9 per cent, Ten had 20.7 per cent and the ABC 18.6 per cent. Even the SBS went over the eight-mark with 8.1 per cent on the back of Eurovision (which pulled 271,000).

Nine’s A Current Affair did well with 859,000, while Ten’s The Project continues to oscillate  widely, managing 579,000.

The ABC’s comedy heavy evening went thus: Gruen (731,000), ABC News (723,000), Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (618,000), 7:30 (580,000), The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (550,000), Corey White’s Roadmap to Paradise (250,000) and Think Tank (245,000).
