Last night saw the premiere of The Bachelorette Australia, featuring Brooke Blurton – a First Nations, bisexual woman – as its star.
The episode scored 397,000 viewers, while on the up was Gruen, which grew its audience from last week’s premiere, scoring 702,000 viewers.
On top of the entertainment ratings was once again The Block, with a solid 851,000 viewers.
Also on Nine was Nine News with 909,000 viewers (trying saying that three times quickly), as well as Hot Seat with 442,000, Tipping Point with 305,000 and the arvo news with 297,000.
Over on Seven, Seven News was the top performer overall with 975,000 viewers, followed by Home and Away with 587,000, The Chase with 523,000 and Highway Patrol – Dreadful Drivers with 358,000.
At the ABC, ABC News had 671,000 viewers, Hard Quiz had 595,000 and 7.30 had 553,000.
For 10, The Project scored 378,000 and 10 News First scored 293,000.
The Nine Network won the night with 30.5 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 24.5 per cent. It was a photo finish for bronze, with Network 10 beating out the ABC TV Network by 0.1 per cent – 10 had 18.1 per cent of the daily share to the ABC’s 18.0 per cent.
The SBS Network had 8.8 per cent.
Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV report for Wednesday October 13, the top three shows were, surprise, surprise, Seven News, The Block and Nine News.
They had 1,645,000 (metro: 1,026,000, regional: 583,000, BVOD: 25,0000); 1,552,000 (metro: 898,000, regional: 352,000, BVOD: 209,000); and 1,297,000 (metro: 937,000, regional: 326,000, BVOD: 33,000) total viewers respectively.
And, the program with the highest lift on overnight was the SBS’s New Gold Mountain at a staggering 111 per cent. It had a total audience of 551,000 (metro: 167,000, regional: 94,000, BVOD: 110,000).
