Wednesday TV Wrap: MasterChef Rises Like The Veritable Soufflé, As Anh Has A Big Night

With Lego Masters on hiatus, MasterChef got to bare its kitchen tongs last night, posting its best night thus far.

According to OzTAM metro numbers, Gary, George and Matt enjoyed 721,000 last night.

But arguably the surprise of the night was the ABC’s Anh’s Brush With Fame (featuring Tim Minchin) that posted 687,000 and saw off its more fancied commercial rivals – Nine’s returning Talkin’ Bout Your Generation (632,000) and Seven’s House Rules (589,000).

Seven won the night with 28.1 audience share. Nine had 25.8 per cent, 10 had a good night with 22.2 per cent, the ABC had 17.6 per cent and SBS had 6.2 per cent.

Other standouts for Seven included its 6pm news (1.08 million), Home And Away (706,000), The Chase (593,000) and The Bay (470,000).

Nine’s 6pm news had 961,000, ACA did 773,000 and Hot Seat had 555,000.

MasterChef aside, 10’s other highlights included The Project (456,000), Bachelor In Paradise (434,000) and 10 News First (393,000).

For the ABC, it was all about its 7pm news (693,000), 7.30 (626,000), The Weekly With Charlie Pickering (617,000) and You Can’t Ask That (503,000).

For SBS, it was Great British Railway Journeys and 24 Hours in Emergency (both pulling 192,000).
