Wednesday TV Wrap: Gruen Enjoys Impressive Return

The ABC’s all-things-ads show Gruen returned to an impressive 754,000 viewers last night according to OzTAM metro numbers.

With 10’s pesky Masked Singer on hiatus, The Block returned to doing what it does best – trouncing everyone. It posted 963,000 viewers last night and was the most watched show of the night.

Nine won the evening with 33.4 per cent of the audience share (all channels). Seven did 25.8 per cent, the ABC took third with 18.1 per cent, 10 did 15.8 per cent and SBS had a neat seven.

With Shaun Micallef over for the year, the ABC’s other comedies Utopia (638,000) and Hard Quiz (630,000) did well and even beat its 7pm news (608,000).

Best for 10 was The Project (444,000), Bondi Rescue (361,000) and a repeat of Bondi Rescue (333,000).

Seven did well with its 6pm news (914,000), Home And Away (578,000), The Chase (340,000) and Britain’s Got Talent (282,000).

The Block aside, Nine’s other standouts were its 6pm news (796,000), ACA (703,000), The Footy Show (420,000) and Hot Seat (408,000).

In the battle for breakfast, Sunrise (280,000) did away with Today (190,000).

SBS’ best was its Tony Robinson’s: Britain’s Ancient Tracks with 222,000.
