We Are Social and BlueFocus team up

China’s leading marketing services group, BlueFocus Communication Group Co. Ltd, today announced its attainment of a majority stake in We Are Social, the world’s largest specialist social media agency network, subject to regulatory approval.

The alliance will allow We Are Social to help continue its growth, advance its global infrastructure and expand into further key markets.

Becoming China’s primary digital agency brand outside of China, the alliance allows We Are Social to bring digital and social media expertise on a global scale, providing BlueFocus with a platform for significant growth in digital revenues.

“This is an incredibly exciting partnership for We Are Social. BlueFocus and We Are Social share a culture of ambition, entrepreneurialism and a track record of amazingly fast growth,” Julian Ward, managing director of We Are Social Australia, said.

“Additionally, China is a crucial target market for many global businesses, so the insight we will now have into the Chinese market will be a huge benefit to the clients we work with.

“Because of this, and because BlueFocus believes in We Are Social’s unique brand and culture, makes them the perfect partner for both We Are Social in Australia and across the world.”

Since opening in 2008, We Are Social has become renowned for its award-winning strategic and creative work for a large global and local client base, including clients such as Open Universities, eBay and Heinekin.

The Sydney office opened in 2010.
