Things could be rather uncomfortable in the Channel Nine commentary box this summer with news Shane Warne is considering suing the network despite being on the pay roll.

Warnie’s taken umbrage at a spot on Nine’s Weekend Today show after hosts saw a tweet he’d posted on the model Emily Ratajkowski’s Twitter account. Ms Ratajkowski posted she was in London to which Warnie tweeted back: “Stunning day in London!!! Enjoy. X”

Warne had previously “liked” racy images Ratajkowski had posted to social media.

However, Weekend Today’s host called the response “cheesy” and the work of a “creepy uncle”.

Ratajkowski found global fame in the risqué film clip for the song Blurred Lines in 2013 and has since become one of the planet’s most sought after models.

Warne – famous for his roguish sense of humour – didn’t seen the funny side. “I’ve been employed by Ch 9 for 23 years & have gone out of my way to give the today show my time, not anymore, lawyer time I think… [sic],” he threatened via Twitter.

However, Warne found support in former flame Liz Hurley and British media personality and cricket tragic, Piers Morgan.

And it seems a number of people are on Warne’s side. In no time the hashtag #GiveShaneAGo surfaced with fans imploring Ratajwoski to give the former leggie a chance at winning her over.

However, it remains unclear whether or not Warne will go ahead with his threats of legal action. Ratajkowski has not responded to the controversy.
