Unruly Snares Former IPG Singapore CEO David Haddad For MD Role

Video advertising platform Unruly has announced the appointment of former IPG Mediabrands Singapore CEO David Haddad to the position of Australia and New Zealand MD.

Haddad will be responsible for accelerating the company’s growth in the key Australian and New Zealand markets, working closely with key strategic partner News Corp Australia in cementing Unruly’s strong brand reputation in the region and driving forward its new cross-screen capabilities, which includes CTV, In-App and InStream.

Haddad brings with him over 17 years’ experience of working in the advertising industry, working across a variety of different senior agency roles in Australia and Singapore, including trading, planning, client management, strategy and agency management.

Before joining Unruly, Haddad was CEO of IPG Mediabrands Singapore, overseeing agencies including UM and Initiative.  Previously, he was the General Manager of UM Sydney, leading the office operations and client management function. He has also worked for agencies Mediacom AU and Bellamy Hayden. Haddad will be based in Unruly’s Sydney office and will report into Group MD, International, Alex Khan.

Khan said: “The Australian and New Zealand markets are key growth territories for us, so having David’s incredible leadership skills, vast knowledge and industry know-how will be crucial as we continue to roll out our exciting all-screen capabilities to our clients.

“Since being acquired by Tremor International at the start of the year, Unruly has transformed from an outstream video specialist to become one of the largest independent multi-screen ad platforms in the world, offering our clients and publishers a host of exciting new formats across CTV, desktop and mobile, unique audiences, self-service tools and supersized supply. Armed with such a powerful proposition in market, having someone of David’s experience and talent will be a key driver in us hitting our ambitious business goals for the region.”

Haddad said: “I’m delighted to be joining Unruly, one of the most well-known, innovative companies in the global video adverting ecosystem. Bolstered by Tremor’s enhanced capabilities, I’m excited to unleash Unruly’s multi-screen, market-leading proposition across Australia and New Zealand. Every dollar invested in creative and media must be data-driven, and that’s where Unruly stands out. I’m really honoured to be joining the team and can’t wait to start working with the many incredibly talented people within the business.”

Haddad will also work closely with News Corp Australia’s leadership team and Unruly’s growing list of premium publisher sites on helping advertisers realise the power of professional, trusted journalism in driving real attention and return on investment for brands.

Lou Barrett, News Corp Australia’s managing director of national sales, said: “Our relationship with Unruly has never been stronger and we’re over the moon David is joining at such an exciting time, where Unruly is delivering on the exciting promise of multi-screen, premium video, underpinned by our market-leading data platform News Connect and the Unruly EQ+ data offering.”
