UnLtd: Big Splash Raises $90K As Nine Sails To Victory

The third UnLtd: Big Splash sailing regatta saw 14 industry teams race across the Sydney Harbour whilst raising over $90K for children and young people at risk.

The annual event, usually taking place in March but postponed due to the pandemic, finally took place on 30 October in beautiful sunny conditions in Rushcutters Bay.

Each team of four was accompanied by a professional sailor to learn some tips from before it was all hands on deck for a series of intense races across the harbour. After plenty of sweat, blisters and getting soaked by the water, it was Team Nine who sailed to victory. Meanwhile, the race spectators enjoyed a far more leisurely experience onboard the spectator boat.

Chris Freel, CEO of UnLtd said: “We’ve been delighted to be able to safely bring back some of our in person events after such a long wait. Big Splash was another great opportunity to bring our industry together after a challenging year to raise much needed funds for our charity partners. It was a fantastic day out and worth the seven month wait!”

The event was kindly sponsored by Verizon Media and supported by ACM, GroupM, JCDecaux, Little Colossus, Network 10, Nine, Nova, oOh! Media, Publicis, Seven West Media, The Guardian and Val Morgan.

Paul Sigaloff, Managing Director of Verizon Media AUNZ said: “It was great to be able to once again support the UnLtd: Big Splash and the important work that UnLtd does. It was a brilliant day out for team building and networking, all whilst enjoying the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. The result is just incredible and will go a long way in making a difference to so many young people at risk.”
