Undertow Media Hires New Talent And Boosts Client Wins

Strategic communications agency Undertow Media has secured a range of high profile wins following a deepening of its service offering to drive innovation in the traditional PR space.

Marking major growth for the 12-year old agency, the significant wins over the first quarter of 2015 span the health, consumer, property, utilities, community and automotive industries and include brands Blundstone, The Color Run, Europcar and PowerCor.

Attracting some of the brains in digital and social media, Undertow Media has further diversified its offering to offer brands a communications mix focusing on creative ways to achieve business outcomes, comprising social media, digital, content and leadership training.

Undertow is a member of Bastion Group. The Group appointed the its first head of digital innovation, Hugh Cameron (formerly marketing manager at carsales.com.au) and digital marketer and thought leader Kristen Boschma as head of social media (formerly Telstra, ANZ, Haystac) who both advise to Undertow as shared resources across the Group.

This month Bastion EBA general manager Michelle Cox and Undertow media board director was appointed Bastion Group COO. Cox is formerly global brand director of Contiki, MD of Asia Pacific STA Travel and GM marketing for the APT Group.

Former STA travel marketing director Nat Placko-Thornton also joins Undertow as client services director and Kate Aurel-Smith as GM strategy and culture.

The Group also welcomed Kate Lundy to strategic and global outcomes (S+GO) in a non-executive director role. Lundy has rich experience and insights in the digital space and will be assisting S+GO in advising how the technology sector and government at all levels can form and strengthen existing relationships.
