Local technology and advertising company, Vouchr, has launched a new mobile coupon product that allows retailers to target customers with discounts and track their response.
The electronic Vouchr system can reach customers via print, television or radio with a smartphone app that allows consumers to scan codes from the ads.
The app than stroes the offers and presents them to the customer when they are next near the retailer.
Brands using the product including Domino’s Pizza, Oxford Shop, Moochi, and Baskin Robbins.
The technology is bringing couponing into the 21st century and taps into Australian consumers habit of comparing prices and searching for bargains on their phone.
Chris Newell, chief executive Vouchr, said: “The potential of location-based marketing is only just beginning to be understood. At a time when bricks and mortar retailers are struggling to compete against online competitors, VOUCHR plays a major role in driving foot traffic into stores by requiring in-store redemption, in conjunction with location alerts and expiry alerts.”
The new app has reached the top 20 in the Apple iTunes Store and has ahcieved number two spot in iTunes' lifestyle apps category.
