Uber has launched a standalone app on Android and iOS called UberEATS that makes ordering food as easy as requesting a ride. The app which has been in Melbourne for four months, is now available in Sydney.

Sydney, we’ve been cooking up something new, an app that makes getting great food as easy as requesting a ride. Whether it’s acclaimed dishes from hatted restaurants such as Three Blue Ducks & Saké, or meals from your local favourites such as Fratelli Fresh & Spice Alley – your favourite restaurants are now available through UberEATS, 7 days a week.

It’s like Uber, but for food.

*Please note, your UberEATS app may be called ‘UberEATS Melbourne’ in the app store, but rest assured this is the correct app to access UberEATS in Sydney (cheeky Melbourne, trying to keep it all to themselves).

Featured restaurants include: Three Blue Ducks, Butter, On It burgers and Thievery.

“With such a beautiful cityscape, it’s no wonder Sydneysiders have a reputation for eating out. Whether it’s the local Italian on the beach, the fancy restaurant with a harbour-view, or a trendy newbie in the inner suburbs, Sydney is the ultimate foodie city.

Today we’re super excited to be bringing Sydneysiders their favourite restaurants directly to their door, with the launch of the UberEATS app in Sydney.

UberEATS will help more people access the city’s great food from top restaurants in their suburb and beyond.” – David Rohrsheim, General Manager, Uber Australia and New Zealand said in a statement

FULL RELEASE:

Sydney’s breathtaking harbour and beautiful beaches might get all the fame and glory on postcards, but it’s often the local culinary experiences that Sydneysiders associate their favourite moments and memories with.

The family owned pizzeria you’ve been going to since you were a kid, the fancy restaurant you like to show off to visiting friends and family, or the trendy new place on the corner that’s your little ‘secret’.

Today, we’re excited to say over 100 of Sydney’s most beloved restaurants can now be delivered directly into your home, office or wherever you happen to be, with the launch of the new standalone UberEATS app in Sydney.

From hatted restaurants like Saké and Three Blue Ducks, or family favourites such as Fratelli Fresh and Love Supreme, to hipster classics Butter andThievery, Sydney’s finest are now just a few taps away.

With extended hours of operation from 11.00am to 10.00pm, seven days a week, Sydneysiders can download and open the UberEATS app – available oniOS and Android – to get great food, delivered quickly to their door anywhere in Sydney’s inner suburbs. From Bondi to Surry Hills, Pyrmont to Newtown, and everywhere in between.

And Delivery is FREE for a limited time.

UBEREATS SUPPORTS LOCAL RESTAURANTS

UberEATS gives local restaurants a reliable delivery option, effectively expanding their capacity and ability to service a whole new network of potential customers.

“Butter aims to be innovative in the food industry, so it made natural sense to be partnering with the most innovative technology company in the world to deliver our food.

Our main goal is to deliver food on time and at a high quality with no disruptions along the way. It also connects us with a much larger audience while also reinforcing the prestige of our brand, because only the best local restaurants are invited.” – Julian Cincotta, Head Chef/Founder Butter, and Young Chef of the Year 2015.

“We’re super excited to be working with UberEATS.  It’ll open open up Three Blue Ducks to another exciting dining platform.  Allowing everyone to enjoy our food wherever they fancy.  We’ll also be creating new dishes and some one off specials just for UberEATS designed specifically for home delivery.”  – Darren Robertson, Owner, Three Blue Ducks.

“Partnering with UberEATS opens up exciting new business opportunities for Saké Restaurant & Bar and our expanding group of Fratelli Fresh restaurants. It will grow our reach and broaden our customer base to people from all walks of life and as a result we expect the long-term business impact to be substantial.” – Thomas Pash, CEO, Urban Purveyor Group.
