The new feature is available to all iOS users from today and is expected to become available on Android later this year.
Twitter users, rejoice! From today, the iOS version of the app will give you the opportunity to try your hand at making your own GIFs and not just choose from those that have already been created.
All you need to do is open the camera section in the “Tweet” menu and scroll over to the fancy new GIF option, then share your creations with your audience.
However, make sure to use caution, since just like your usual tweets, there will be no way to edit your GIFs once you’ve posted them. You’ll need to delete them and start from scratch.
Ok GIFs aren’t new but what *is new* is the option to capture your own using the in-app camera on iOS. pic.twitter.com/3Hl6q78e6s

This new feature has been in high demand by Twitter users and while it is available worldwide, it remains in a testing phase, with more features expected to become available in future updates.
GIF creation is only available for iOS users for now, with a new Android update expected to roll out sometime in the near future.
Twitter hopes to give its users the same options such as other popular social media platforms like Instagram or Snapchat, who already have similar features available for their audiences.
