It was all eyes on Phillip Island last night with a total TV national reach of 3,412,000 and a national average of 2,110,000 tuning in for the grand final and an average of 2,190,000 continuing to watch as the winner was announced.

In a surprising and record-breaking finale, billionaire Adrian Portelli swept The Block auctions by purchasing all five luxurious homes, totaling an astonishing $15.03 million.

This year’s setting in the picturesque former holiday resort of Phillip Island saw contestants turn worn-down villas into dream homes, each complete with lavish, shared amenities like a clubhouse with saunas, an outdoor dining area, and even a private cinema. Portelli, apparently sold on the concept of having his very own high-end retreat, snatched up every house on the lot—talk about commitment!

The real stars of the night, however, were Maddy and Charlotte, who walked away as winners with a $1.65 million prize after Portelli bid $3.5 million for their home. The sisters, the youngest winners in Block history, were thrilled by the win and the whirlwind of bids. Charlotte, half in disbelief, exclaimed, “It’s wild!” while Maddy joked about feeling like a “stunned mullet” as the numbers climbed higher.

Meanwhile, the other contestants celebrated their own impressive profits. Second-place finishers Courtney and Grant’s “Moditerranean” masterpiece wowed Portelli with a $3.3 million offer, leaving the couple starstruck and ready to toast their $1.35 million gain. Close behind, newlyweds Kristian and Mimi also cashed in on their hard work, netting just over a million dollars for their clubhouse cinema addition.

As next season’s contestants prep for Daylesford, they might have to dig deep—Adrian Portelli made it very clear that he won’t be there to pick up the whole block again!
