Tuesday TV Wrap: ‘The Good Doctor’ Proves Just The Medicine For Seven

Think Aussies don’t want to watch US dramas anymore? Well, the debut of The Good Doctor on Seven last night may prove the doubters wrong.

The US drama pulled an impressive 1.06 million viewers for Seven and handed the network an evening win with 34.4 per cent viewer share. Nine was second with 26.5 per cent, Ten managed 15.9 per cent, the ABC not far behind with 15.2 per cent and SBS had a straight eight per cent.

The Wall did reasonably well for Seven with 795,000 viewers, however, dropped 180,000 from Monday’s debut.

In what might be a little concerning for Nine, Family Food Fight managed only 523,000 on its second outing and it definitely needs something to happen.

Seven’s 6pm news won the news bragging rights with 949,000. Home and Away (655,000), The Chase (521,000) and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (409,000) made up the rest its night.

For Nine, its news bulletin pulled 853,000 followed by ACA (741,000), Family Food Fight (523,000), The Big Bang Theory (518,000), Hot Seat (435,000) and Kath & Kim (389,000).

The Project (541,000) was Ten’s best while the rest of its evening viewing failed to set the world on fire – Jamie’s Quick & Easy Food (392,000), NCIS (330,000) and NCIS: LA had 244,000.

The ABC’s evening comprised its 7pm news bulletin (707,000), 7:30 (565,000), Catalyst (391,000), Screen Time (356,000) and Grand Designs (169,000).

Once again it was trains for SBS, with Great American Railroad Journeys (305,000) its best for the night.
